PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE
Your Private Medical Insurance (PMI) is provided by Bupa. PMI is an insurance policy that can cover the cost of private healthcare, from diagnosis to treatment. Please note you will need to pay an excess of £200 in the event of a claim, £100 of which will not be covered by Bowmore. Please request for the additional £100 to be reimbursed through payroll. The excess applies each year to treatment costs for eligible treatments.
You can manage your PMI cover through the Bupa Touch portal or App. When first enrolled in the scheme, you will have received a welcome pack directly from Bupa. To register for Bupa Touch, you will need to enter your details exactly as shown on your Bupa documents. Once registered, you will be able to view details of your cover including Membership Guide, Cover Letter & Certificate.
Your Membership Certificate will outline the benefits that are available to you as a member of this scheme. As PMI is a Benefit in Kind, you are taxed on the cost of the premium which Bowmore pays. The amount of tax you will pay is shown on your Membership Certificate and usually is fairly minimal. This will also be shown on your P11D.

Other benefits available through Bupa are access to digital GP services (including physio), Bupa Wellbeing and further information about certain conditions and treatments. The following options are shown on your dashboard when you logon to Bupa Touch. You also have access to Bupa Blua.
